The tenth ZagrebDox wrapped up this Sunday with lots of awards and special mentions – 17 of them all together. I was there for the pitching forum that included 13 projects from 12 different countries, where all the participants had a chance to do a 3 day workshop before the main event, moderated by Leena Pasanen and Stefano Tealdi.
Pirjo Honkasalo’s documentary The 3 Rooms of Melancholia (2004) screened as a part of My Best Dox section, a retrospective selected by Croatian film critics. The film won the International Competition in 2005.
While the festival is quite vibrant (a big thanks to the lovely team of organisers), it is also a nice chance to catch up with the industry colleagues, while enjoying štrukli (a traditional Croatian dish) and great Croatian wine. We’ll definitely be there again in 2015.
