Col Spector started as a director in both arts documentaries and drama at the BBC TV. He then directed commercials out of Ridley Scott Associates. His first short film as writer & director was "New Year's Eve" (starring Keira Knightley and Stephen Mangan) which was subsequently released theatrically as part of the compilation feature film "Stories of Lost Souls" in 2005. His first feature as director "Someone Else" (which he co-wrote with Radha Chakraborty) was released theatrically by Thunderbird Releasing in 2006, winning Panorama of European Cinema, and was named Variety Critics' Choice at Karlovy Vary Film Festival and subsequently shown on BBC2, IFC, Sundance Channel. His next feature as writer & director "Honeymooner" (starring Gerard Kearns & Daisy Haggard) was released theatrically by Thunderbird Releasing in 2010 and shown at top international film festivals as well as on BBC1. He then directed Al Weaver and Ruth Negga in the critically-acclaimed short film "Things He Never Said” in 2014. "I'm Not In Love" is his third feature.
